Dans plusieurs pays, la police a procédé à de nombreuses arrestations de hackers proches du Collectif Anonymous. Des arrestations rendues possibles grâce à la trahison de Sabu alias Hector Xavier Monsegur. Ce New-yorkais de 28 ans qui a été retourné par le FBI au mois de juin 2011, a récolté pendant plusieurs mois des informations.
Infiltré au cœur des opérations du Collectif Anonymous, notamment contre l’agence de renseignement « Stratfor », Sabu a balancé sans vergogne ses camarades hackers à l’agence fédérale américaine.
